In addition to positive news from recent research findings, a victory for the European anti-GM lobby, as well as key ANH campaign actions, we show more evidence of the cooperation and coordination between the US and European regulators that threatens more than ever before to limit our ability to take responsibility for our own health, naturally.
The regulatory models used by agencies the world over are essentially converging, but unfortunately the draconian European regulatory model appears set to become the global template. Now, more than ever, we need to collectively stimulate a sea change among government authorities and regulators, leading to an acceptance of natural approaches to healthcare—the proper and rightful system of healthcare that is intrinsically compatible with our bodies.
Positive research findings
Good news for women in our coverage of two new studies and a review, entitled “Vitamins / minerals reduce cancer risk, may lengthen life & prevent bone loss” that you’re unlikely to have seen in mainstream media. The review concludes that food-derived antioxidants play a significant cancer protective role, whilst the US study confirms the role of vitamin and mineral supplements in maintaining the health of DNA, thereby having an effect on ageing. Whilst the results appear confined only to women, men shouldn’t worry – these health benefits aren’t likely to discriminate between genders.
Another very positive study that also hasn’t had any mention in the mainstream press, are the Korean findings that nature’s folates work better than their synthetic cousin (folic acid) for reducing the risk of colorectal cancer risk. Given that colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the US, Europe and Australasia, keeping silent about the significant health benefits from foods high in folates (e.g. green leafy vegetables, asparagus and lentils) is a travesty. It’s a sad fact, but if the findings had been negative, you can rest assured that the headlines would have been syndicated worldwide.
Biased media coverage
We need to see accurate and honest communications restored—the truth is one of our most fundamental rights. But unless we start working collectively towards a new paradigm in health choice and healthcare, the regulatory steamroller is set to wipe out almost all beneficial natural health products in a matter of years. Abram Hoffer, Canadian psychiatrist and pioneer in natural medicine who passed away last month, remarked that "supporters of old paradigms never realize how much damage they do by their remarkable rigidity and adherence to old theories".
The more people who ACT NOW to usher in the new paradigm, the greater will be our chances of success!
