ANH eBlast: From topsy turvy to sheer science fiction?

12th August 2009

For those of us who value the freedom to live a lifestyle that is respectful of nature and one in which we retain autonomy over our own bodies, we seem to have entered some kind of sci-fi drama reminiscent of some of the thrillers seen on the Big Screen.  Perhaps the makers of films like ‘The Matrix’ were more intuitive than they’ve sometimes been given credit for.  For many people in the so-called free ‘western world’ we are soon to enter a phase in which our freedom of speech will be  dramatically restricted.  At least as bad, we are now being conditioned into thinking mandatory vaccination is the best way of protecting us from the new H1N1 (swine flu) virus.  This particular issue is so emotive, so potentially transgressive, it has the power to start revolutions against governments.

In Britain, the government has drawn up drastic plans for immunising all children of school age, starting this October.  Many other countries seem to be following suit.  But the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), which will licence the vaccines, said approvals could be granted before the results of any paediatric trials are known!  How comfortable will parents be offering their children forward to the estimated pool of some 12 million guinea pigs?  Assuming most people submit to the governments’ dictates, this will be the biggest mass vaccination since the 1964 smallpox campaign.  In the UK, nurses, health visitors and GPs will be involved in delivering the vaccine to 5–16 yr olds at 33,700 schools.  Not surprisingly, concerns among parents are growing rapidly.  The terminology currently being used by the authorities in relation to the proposed vaccination programme is ‘offering’, but if huge numbers of parents exercise their right to choose and refuse the jab, what then?

Whilst the authorities seem hell-bent on sticking a needle in all of us, experts around the world are beginning to voice concerns over the safety of the planned mass, global vaccination plan.  Dr Tom Jefferson, of the well-known, independent Cochrane Collaboration, said he feared there would be safety issues with the jab and also had doubts it would work.  He added: “Governments have a duty of care, and therefore a duty to provide vaccines which are proven to be safe and effective”.  Such words are reassuring after all the pro-vaccination propaganda.  But as most of us know protecting the public is unlikely to be the primary concern in this pandemic.  Protecting or making corporate billions is probably a little more like it.

Seeing how governments and pro-vaccination scientists have been reacting to public interest in swine flu parties is interesting.  Such parties have been judged as “seriously flawed thinking” and people are being strenuously dissuaded from this type of “vigilante vaccination”.  And they reckon allowing someone in a white coat to inject you with a new and relatively untested vaccine is……..responsible

Here in Europe we’re used to being told that ‘consumer protection’ is adequate justification for the draconian legislative regime that faces the natural health industry. But the rot has now spread to the US.  Below you’ll read about two new suits against the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) involving the ANH’s US arm, previously known as the American Association for Health Freedom.  The ANH is in the process of merging with our affiliate organisation and they are already operating as the Alliance for Natural Health US (ANH-US).  We believe we’ll be able to significantly increase our impact following our merger as we better coordinate our activities and share resources.  We’ll keep you posted on more developments on the merger via our eBlasts.

Whilst the FDA is engaged in suppressing freedom of speech, the UK’s equivalent, the Food Standards Agency (FSA), is trying to convince us that organic food is little different nutritionally from conventionally-produced food as so offers no extra health benefits.  It’s a little like the large-scale trials undertaken on isolated, pharmaceutical-forms of vitamins which showed little benefit in the 1990s.  It depends on what you are testing. We would agree that some mass produced organic food is not very different to conventional food nutritionally—but does this apply to all organic food?  Does it apply to food in which heritage varieties are used, and where crop rotation, double digging, green manuring and on-farm composting on used?  We say no, according to data we’ve seen.

Never in history has there been such a need to to grow a united, international community which respects both the laws of nature and social justice and freedom. This is the process the ANH is helping to facilitate.  We are deeply committed to the principle of informed consumer choice in matters relating to natural health and we’re widening our communication network to offer you more support.  You can find our information on Facebook and now we’re also tweeting daily on Twitter (under anhcampaign, with no space!).  Please also take a look at our multimedia section where we’ve recently added many more video clips.  We hope you tune in and spread the word.  There are still many people out there feeling vulnerable and wondering where they can go to find reliable information to give them, their friends and families the best chance of a healthy life.
